Family Ministry
The Board of Family Ministry provide programs of ministry that
- foster spiritual growth and leadership in parents;
- provide spiritual growth and better communication and understanding within individual families of the congregation and in our community;
- assist families to identify with the larger family of Jesus Christ in the congregation, in Lutheran Church-Canada (LCC).
The Board of Family Ministry implements ministry activities that
- are aimed at enhancing and strengthening marriages and families;
- devise means and methods to enable and maintain good communication among our families;
- encourage strong catechetical and devotional life within families at St. Matthew.
Kids’ Bible Study
Kids’ Bible Study is available between services beginning at 9:15 am.
Vacation Bible School
August 14 – 18, 2023 Stay tuned for registration information.
Adult Information Class
Usually held three times a year, at various intervals, this is a ten-week program which examines and reviews the chief teachings of Scripture and the Lutheran church. All people interested in learning basic Biblical teachings, those interested in joining and communing with us here at St. Matthew, or members who would like to brush up on their Biblical knowledge and Luther’s Small Catechism are encouraged to attend.
Adult Bible Study
Sundays 9:15-10:15 am, September to May
An adult Bible study meets every Sunday between worship services. An informative and interactive study, it challenges people to ask questions and to search the Scriptures together with one of the Pastors for God’s answers. All adults are welcome.
There is also a Tuesday morning Bible Study in the church basement (lift available for those with mobility issues) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. (September – April)
Family Recreation
Camp Kuriakos is owned and operated by Sylvan Lake Lutheran Bible Camp Association. The facility can provide accommodation, programming and food services for groups or provide great family-centered facilities to enjoy the outdoors.
